Notes	The primary star of this binary system is a blue subgiant some five times the diameter and mass of the Sun, but is hundreds of times more luminous. Its close binary companion, detected spectroscopically, orbits the subgiant over a period of nearly twelve days.

The brightest star in the constellation of Pavo, the Peacock, is also called 'Peacock'. A blue subgiant, if it lay ten parsecs from Earth, it would shine more brightly than Sirius.
