NotesA blue star some six times the size and the mass of the Sun, Segin is surrounded be a shell of material expelled by the star. It is one of more than ninety stars that together form the Cassiopeia-Taurus association stretching across the northern sky.

The northernmost of the five stars that make up the famous 'W' of Cassiopeia, Segin is also the faintest, and the only one below second magnitude. It is a variable blue star some 459 light years from Earth.
