Ithilien
The narrow lands of Gondor east of the Anduin
Fiefs and regions of Gondor
Anfalas Anórien Belfalas (Calenardhon) Dor-en-Ernil (Harondor) Ithilien Lamedon Lebennin Lossarnach
The lands of Gondor east of the River Anduin , on the borders of Mordor . With the capture of Minas Ithil , and the return of the Nazgûl to the Black Land , Ithilien became a deserted country.
Notes
1
Minas Ithil is the only named city of Ithilien. However, this rich land was at one time a populous region, and doubtless supported many other towns and settlements. The hills of Emyn Arnen seem to have been of particular importance, though no individual settlements among the hills are ever named.
